Booking the NCLEX-RN from outside the US
Good news: the NCLEX-RN is offered at international test centers in many countries, so you may not need to travel far. Follow the steps in order and everything falls into place smoothly.
1. Apply to a state board first
Choose the state where you want your license and submit its application. You cannot receive an Authorization to Test until a board declares you eligible.
2. Register with the exam vendor
Pay the $200 registration. If you plan to test outside the US or Canada, add the international scheduling fee at this point.
3. Book your seat once your ATT arrives
Your ATT has a validity window set by your board, usually 90 days. Schedule as early as you can; popular international centers fill weeks ahead.
4. Reschedule carefully
Changes are usually allowed up to 24 hours before your appointment, and international dates may carry a change fee. And if you miss the exam or don't pass, you can apply again, and a new ATT is typically available after 90 days, so your journey continues.
